Easter Story
Build a tomb from blocks and
place a picture of Jesus inside.
Talk about how Jesus was placed
in the tomb after He died on the
cross; the Roman soldier and big
rock that guarded the door; and
how Jesus said He would rise
again in 3 days. Count together
1-2-3 and roll the rock away. Take
Jesus out - He is alive!

Bag of Love
Follow these directions to make a
Bag of Love for a friend.
1. Take a brown lunch bag.
2. Let your toddler draw anything
he or she wishes, or decorate the
bag with stickers and cut-outs.
3. Add a hand-written message to
the bag: "Happy Easter! Jesus
loves you and so do I."
6. Fill the bag with treats and
delivery to a friend. Let your child
receive the gratification of
physically handing the bag to the
recipient.

The Life of Jesus
Print out and assemble these
pages to make your own "The Life
Of Jesus" mini-book.

Easter Hands Wreath
Make this Easter Hands Wreath,
compliments of DLTK Kids.

Easter Egg Hunt
Fill 10 plastic eggs with goodies.
Include a message about Jesus in
each egg. Use short sentences
such as the following:
Jesus loves me.
Jesus wants me to be good.
Jesus wants me to share with my
friends.
etc.
Hide the eggs throughout the
house or the yard, and ask your
child to count as each egg is
recovered!

Easter Song
(Tune-"Jesus Loves Me")
Songs of Easter ringing clear,
Telling of the Savior Dear
Once He died on Calvary's tree
Then arose for you and me.
Jesus is risen, Jesus is risen, Jesus
is risen,
He rose for you and me.

Three Days (fingerplay)
Day One--
(Hold up one finger.)
The guards watched the tomb.
(Put hand above eyes. Pretend to
watch something intently.)
All was quiet.
(Hold finger to lips.)

Day Two--
(Hold up one finger.)
The guards watched the tomb.
(Put hand above eyes. Pretend to
watch something intently.)
All was quiet.
(Hold finger to lips.)

Day Three--
(Hold up one finger.)
The guards watched the tomb.
(Put hand above eyes. Pretend to
watch something intently.)
All was quiet.
(Hold finger to lips.
SUDDENLY!
Jump, as if in shock.)
The stone rolled from the door of the
tomb.
(Make a rolling motion with hands.)
Jesus stepped out!
(Walk fingers across palm.)
God's Son was alive!
(Point to sky.)

Jesus Died, But Rose Again
(Tune - "Mary Had A Little Lamb")
Jesus died, but rose again
Rose again, rose again.
Jesus died, but rose again
On Easter Sunday morning.

1-2-3-4-5 I Know Jesus Is Alive
(Tune - "1-2-3-4-5, Once I Caught A
Fish Alive")
1-2-3-4-5, I know Jesus is alive.
6-7-8-9-10, He died for me, then rose
again.
Why did He have to die?
So I could have eternal life.
Where does He live today?
In heaven, but He hears me when I
pray.

Jesus Loves Me
Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
they are weak but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Helpful Hints for Your Easter
Celebration

  • Tell the Easter story in
    a way that creates hope,
    not fear or anxiety.

  • Tell the story factually
    from Scripture. Avoid
    giving non-biblical,
    adult details about the
    brutality of Jesus’ death.

  • Allow your child to
    create his own mental
    image of the story.

  • Emphasize the fact that
    Jesus is alive!

  • Load up the family car
    and include some
    secular activities if you
    like, but make sure you
    teach the truth about
    Easter first and
    foremost.
